Gertrude Helen (Jenkins) "Trudy" Cole, 89, of New Albany passed away on Sunday, January 27, 2019. She enjoyed fishing, crocheting, and gardening. Trudy retired from the Pillsbury plant in New Albany after many years of service.
She was born on March 3, 1929 in Milltown, Indiana, to the late Lonnie J. and Mary M. (Hawkins) Jenkins. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Cole, her siblings, Russell Jenkins, Floyd Jenkins, Lula Rogers, Brittie Knight and Juanita Cole; and her great granddaughter, Destiny Davis.
Trudy survived by her daughters, Marilyn Vick (Delbert "Dee") and Sandra Davis (Wilford); grandchildren, Dwayne Davis (Genny), Kimberly Davis-Shoff, Lawnie Franks, Stacey Vick, and Dodi Vick; 15 great grandchildren; and 14 great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). Her Funeral Service is at 11 AM on Wednesday at the funeral home followed by burial at Leavenworth Memorial Gardens in Leavenworth, Indiana.
The family would like to extend their gratitude and appreciation to all of the staff at Kindred Hospice and Autumn Woods Health Campus for their excellent care during this difficult time.
