German Antonio Bascur, 75, of Georgetown, Indiana, passed away on Friday, March 11, 2022. He retired from Sud Chemie after 28 years and was an active member of the Jeffersonville Spanish Jehovah's Witness congregation. German loved to sail and enjoyed motorcycles, as well as watching Formula 1 racing and soccer.
He was born on December 4, 1946, in Santiago, Chile, to Julio and Henrieta (Taito) Bascur. German is survived by his wife of almost 50 years, Luisa (Sepulveda) Bascur; daughter, Karla Goetzinger (Stephen); sons, David Bascur (RC), Jonathan Bascur (Tanya), and Christopher Bascur; sisters, Enriqueta, Maria Antonieta, and Cecilia Bascur; grandchildren, Claudia Quetot (Timothy), Sebastian Goetzinger, Alex Bascur, Skyler Bascur, Eli Meas, and Aaleijah Meas; and great-granddaughter, Camila Quetot.
Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 16, 2022, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). Contributions in German's memory may be made to his congregation.
