Geraldine N. Steptoe

Geraldine N. Steptoe, 85, of Louisville, Kentucky passed away on Sunday, June 5, 2016. She was born in Louisville, Kentucky on January 10, 1931 to the late Joshua and Mayme Buckner. She was a Gold Star Mother, and she saw her oldest son die in service to his country at Khe Sanh, South Vietnam on April 30, 1967.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Steptoe, a son, John Appleton and two brothers.

Geraldine is survived by her children, Joyce Standard, Royce (Patricia) Standard and Darryl Standard; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other family members and friends.

Visitation will be conducted from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 9, 2016 at Newcomer Funeral Home Southwest Louisville Chapel, 10304 Dixie Highway with burial to take place at 2:00 p.m. at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central in Radcliff, Kentucky.
