Geraldine Hampton
May 17, 1951 — August 19, 2016
Geraldine "Gerri" Hampton, age 65, of Louisville, passed away Friday, August 19, 2016. She was a retired tailor, chef and member of Westport Road Baptist Church. Gerri loved travelling, hitchhiked Honduras and loved to cook. She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Rodney Wayne Hampton; her parents, Junior and Mattie Hampton Minton; and her brother, Russell Minton.
Gerri is survived by her loving children, Troy Hampton (Helga) and Tammy Heppner (Scott); grandchildren, Quinlyn Heppner, Kaylon Hampton, Mattie Heppner, and Kanin Hampton; siblings, Bob Minton (Kay), Joey Minton, Christine Harris and Christy Hoskins (Travis); several nieces and nephews; and a host of relatives and friends.
Visitation will be 3-7 pm Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 235 Juneau Drive in Middletown. Funeral ceremony will be 11am Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at Westport Road Baptist Church, 9705 Westport Road, Louisville, KY. Burial will follow in Middletown Historic Cemetery.
