Gerald Lee Sidebottom

Gerald Lee Sidebottom, 73, of Louisville, KY, passed away on August 18, 2017. He retired from Hillerich and Bradsby/Louisville Slugger where he polished the very first aluminum bat. Gerald enjoyed going to Dale Hollow Lake, going to yard sales, auctions, listening to country music and going to the figure 8 races.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 50 years, Nancy Sidebottom; parents, Samuel and Thelma Sidebottom; brother, Marvin Gene Sidebottom and son-in-law, Robert Stark.

Gerald is survived by his children, Cynthia (Marvin) Prewitt, Jerri Stark, Ronald Sidebottom and David (Robin Hale) Sidebottom; grandchildren, Marvin, Mark Anthony, Nancie, Chelsea, Matthew, Jessica, Emily and Sam and 10 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Thursday, August 24, 2017, at Newcomer Funerals, Cremations and Receptions, Southwest Louisville Chapel, 10304 Dixie Highway, Louisville, KY from 12pm-8pm. A celebration of Gerald's life will be Friday, August 25, 2017, at the chapel of the funeral home beginning at 1pm.

Burial will follow at St. Andrew's Cemetery, 7500 St Anthony Church Rd, Louisville, KY.
