Gerald William "Jerry" Sharp, Sr., 72, passed away on Tuesday, April 19, 2016, in New Albany, Indiana. Jerry was a proud veteran in The United States Army, who served during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed spending time outside, whether it was gardening, hunting, or fishing.

Jerry was born on March 28, 1944, in Louisville, Kentucky, to the late Andrew and Mary (Schott) Sharp. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Timothy Sharp; and siblings, Steve, Mary, Laverne, Virginia, and Charles.

He is survived by his wife, Anita (Eve) Sharp; children, Gerald Sharp II (Gina), Ashley Sharp, Crystal Sharp, and Stevie Stone (Gary); brothers, L.A. Sharp (Lilly), Tommy Sharp, and George Sharp (Renee); 10 grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, April 25, 2016, at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, Indiana). Funeral Services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home with burial to follow at Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery.
