Gerald Ray Marleau
May 1, 1940 — March 23, 2015
Gerald Ray "Jerry" Marleau, 74 died peacefully March 23, 2015 at
Norton Hospital Downtown.
He was born May 1, 1940 along with his twin sister Donna Faye in
Detroit Michigan to Elmer E. & Gladys B. (Decker) Marleau.
Jerry graduated from Fenton High School in 1958 and married Mary T.
Pearson on November 7, 1959 in Fenton, Michigan. They divorced
February 12, 1982 and she survives him.
Jerry traveled the country as a Sales Representative & Construction
Specialist for TRW for over 25 years. Every two years his work
relocated Jerry and his family. They lived in Ohio, Illinois,
Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Derbyshire, England. Jerry also resided
in Delaware, Iowa and Arizona. He spent his later years in East
Louisville where he loved the people!
Jerry was very proud of his family. He was quite an athlete in his
earlier years and especially enjoyed playing golf and racquetball.
He was also an avid sports fan.
Jerry is survived by his son Gerald W. "Jerry" & his wife
Christina Marleau of El Paso, TX; daughter Linda & her husband Dewey
Zupan, of Wilsall, MT; grandsons Brian & his wife Andi Marleau of Ft.
Worth, TX; Michael Marleau of Tacoma, WA; and granddaughter Megan &
her husband Wes Purdum of Gig Harbor, WA. Jerry was especially proud
of the recent arrival of his great grandson Barrett!
Jerry is also survived by his sister Donna & her husband Daniel
Diedrich of Royal Oak, Michigan; nephew Greg Diedrich of Buda, Texas;
and nieces Margo Perrino & her family of Troy, Michigan; and Kristen
Bardeville & her family of Madison Heights, Michigan.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Tommy.
A ceremony is being planned for a later date beneath the Bridger
Mountains in Sedan, Montana on his son-in-law's family ranch.
Gerald's family is thankful for the help he received from the kind
people of Louisville, Kentucky at the Meadows Apartments from his
neighbors, staff and management; and for the care and compassion he
received from the nurses, doctors, therapists and staff at Norton
Hospital Downtown and at Signature East where he was residing at the
time of his death.
