Jerry Mort

Jerry Michael Mort (75) was called peacefully home on November 6, 2025, surrounded by his family.

Jerry never met a stranger and he loved telling stories about things he’d seen and experienced throughout his life, always with a glint in his eye. He had a wonderful sense of humor, and an infectious grin and laugh that made you want to join in.

He loved music, although never in the car, and was a lifelong learner who enjoyed learning about nearly anything he came across. He also loved to teach, and he spent many years teaching and sharing his musical passion with others. He was a man of deep faith and conviction and he cherished the years he spent serving with his church family.

He is survived by Lori, his wife of 47 years, and his two daughters Lisa Mort and Laura Pierce and his grandson, Hunter. Although we will miss him greatly, we rejoice in knowing that he rests whole and free from pain, and we celebrate the life he lived and the legacy he has left.

The family would like to thank Caretenders for their six years of support, the Hosparus team for making him comfortable, and his two long-term caregivers Dustie and Tanya who he loved like another daughter and sister.

In accordance with his wishes there will be no services.
