Gerald Wayne Mitchell Sr.

Gerald "Jerry" Wayne Mitchell Sr., 79, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Monday, May 10, 2021. Gerald was a loving husband, dad, poppy, and brother. He loved traveling and shooting pool. He will be truly missed by anyone that had the honor of meeting him.

He was born on September 30, 1941 in Louisville, Kentucky to Howard and Nella (Jervis) Mitchell. He is preceded in death by his father, Howard O. Mitchell and mother, Nella M. Mitchell.

Gerald is survived by his loving Wife of 61 years, Juanita Mitchell; children, Gerald W. (Kathy) Mitchell, Jr., John D. Mitchell, Keith A. (Amanda) Mitchell, and Michelle R. (Larry) LaSelva; grandchildren, Ashley LaSelva, Austin LaSelva, Alexa Henry, Jacob Mitchell, Leo Mitchell, and Keith Mitchell; siblings, Claudia (Walter) Woolley, Debbie (Roger) Cobb, and Richard (Sue) Mitchell. As well as a host of family and friends that will cherish his loving memory forever.

Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm on Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, (10304 Dixie Hwy). His Funeral Service will be at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel.

The family requests that contributions in Gerald's memory be made to St. Peters Episcopal Church (8110 St Andrews Church Rd. Pleasure Ridge Park, KY 40258).
