Gerald David "Jerry" Heckman, Sr., 80, of Pewee Valley, Kentucky passed away on August 10, 2018. He retired from University of Louisville.
Jerry was born on September 22, 1937, in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Henry Heckman and Evangeline Bader Hill. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Donald Henry Heckman, Sr.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, JoAnn Nordhoff Heckman; children, Deborah Frermann (David) and Gerald David Heckman, Jr. (Valerie); 6 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 18, 2018 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, KY 40243) with a memorial service to follow at 11 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Down Syndrome of Louisville Adult Development Academy (5001 South Hurstbourne Parkway Louisville, KY 40291)
