Gerald "Gene" Whipple

Gerald "Gene" Whipple, 80, a faithful Christian, of Jeffersonville, Indiana, passed away on Monday, March 7, 2016. He enjoyed studying the bible, as well as reading and traveling. Gene was a member of the Charlestown Road Church of Christ.
He was born on August 27, 1935 in Shelby County, Indiana to the late William and Hazel (Cooley) Whipple. Gene was also preceded in death by his brother, Larry Whipple. Gene is survived by his loving wife of almost 57 years, Ellen (Henke) Whipple; daughter, Jeana Hillerich; siblings, David Whipple (Marsha), Susan Lo (Oumar); sister-in-law, Virginia Whipple; grandsons, Gregory "Alan" Hillerich, Jr. (Mika), Matthew Hillerich; and great-granddaughter, Audrey Hillerich.
Visitation will be from 3 PM to 8 PM on Friday, March 11, 2016, at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). His Funeral Service will take place at 10 AM on Saturday in the chapel at the funeral home with burial to follow at Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Jeffersonville.
