Gerald David "Jerry" Smith, 76, of Louisville, Kentucky passed away on October 29, 2015. Jerry was a member of St. Andrew United Church of Christ. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus.

Jerry was born on October 26, 1939, Louisville, Kentucky. He was preceded in death by his mother, Marcella Smith.

Jerry is survived by his wife of 41 years, Marie E. (Elsbett) Smith; daughters, Bettina Taliaferro and Christie Wilkinson; son, Michael Herget; grandchildren, Jessica, Josh, Jordan, Gabby, and Ryan; and a host of family and friends.

Visitation will be from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm Sunday, November 1, 2015 at Newcomer Funeral Home (235 Juneau Drive, Louisville). His Funeral Ceremony will be held Monday at 1:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home - East Louisville.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
