George Sanborn, 73, of New Albany, Indiana passed away on Tuesday, October 27, 2015. He was a United States Marine Corp veteran and a retired mechanic from TARC after 20 years of employment.
He was born on December 8, 1941 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to the late George, Sr. and Helen (Baxter) Sanborn. George was also preceded in death by his brother, John "Jack" Sanborn and his sister-in-law, Pat.
George is survived by his wife of 37 years, Carole (Scott) Sanborn; children, George Sanborn V, Tracy Cravens (Lee), Melissa White (Charlie), Shelly Reiter (Doug); brother, Jim Sanborn (Jeanette); grandchildren, Brittany, Emily, Chrystal, Tim, Michael, David, Nathan, Coart, Jessica, Bethany, Johnna, Zachary, Eric; 4 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and his beloved pets, Peaches, Pixie, and Sedonna.
Cremation was chosen following George's wishes. Visitation will be from 11 AM to 1 PM with a celebration of George's life taking place at 1 PM on Saturday, November 21, 2015 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, IN 47150). George was laid to rest privately with military honors at New Albany National Cemetery.
