George Marvin "Jimmy" Rogers, 76, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, April 23, 2017. He was a teacher at Fairmont Elementary in New Albany for many years and was part-owner of Verona Systems Inc. for over 30 years. Jimmy also enjoyed traveling.
He was born on September 5, 1940, in Marion County, Kentucky, to the late Ralph and Clotine (Lawson) Rogers. Jimmy is survived by his sisters, Margaret Wright (Ralph) and Martha Sandusky (Glen); several nieces and nephews; and close friend, Joe Vargas.
Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 26, 2017, at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). Additional visitation will also take place from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 27, 2017, at Bosley Funeral Home (246 South Proctor Knott Avenue, Lebanon, Kentucky 40033) with his Funeral Service taking place at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Haysville-Beech Fork Cemetery in Lebanon.
