Mr. George R. Pitt, age 90, passed away on Tuesday, May 8, 2012. He was a WWII Navy Veteran on an LSM 261 (Landing Ship Medium), a member of VFW Post 1170 and Zachary Taylor American Legion Post 180.
He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Beatrice Pitt; 2 daughters, Nancy Pitt and Kimberly Short (David); 2 grandchildren, DJ and Nannette.
Funeral ceremony will be 1:30p.m. Friday, May 11, 2012, at Newcomer Funeral Home, 235 Juneau Drive in Middletown, with burial to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation at the funeral home will be 4-8 p.m. Thursday and after 11:30 a.m. Friday until time of service. Memorials may be made to VFW Post 1170, 107 Evergreen Road Middletown, KY 40243.
