George McCarver , 63, of New Salisbury, Indiana passed away on June 10, 2018. He was a member of AA, and also sponsored others towards their recovery. He became a licensed drug and alcohol counselor. He was the founding father of the Tri-State River Rats.
George was born on October 15, 1954, Louisville, Kentucky to the late George and Phyllis McCarver.
George is survived by his Wife, Mary L. McCarver; Step-Children, Tess Sykes (Mike), and Brian Thompson (Chelsea), Granddaughters, Mary Beth Sykes, and Braylee Thompson, Sisters, Cheryl J. Thomas, Sandy L. Vargas (Phil), Nephew, Brian T Vargas (Kerri), Niece, Jennifer L. Hanley (Todd).
Visitation will be from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm Sunday, June 17, 2018 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions-Southwest Louisville Chapel (10304 Dixie Highway, Louisville). His Celebration of Life will be held Sunday at 4:00 pm at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Hosparus of Louisville.
