George Leslie Lenz

George Leslie Lenz, 86, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on June 5, 2016. He was born on November 1, 1929, in New Albany, Indiana to George and Viola (Krauth) Lenz. George retired from Clariant Chemical in Louisville, Kentucky after many years and was a United States Army veteran. He enjoyed playing cards, going to the casino, and spending time with his family.

Along with his parents, George was preceded in death by his daughter, Kelly Sue Lenz. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Elma (Scharer-Thomas) Lenz, 5 daughters; Sondra Yeager (Chris), Melissa Brodfuehrer (Bernie), Karen Curry (Rickey), Kathy Shope (Garry), Kimberly Rush-Gibson (James), and a son, Leslie Scott Lenz, 2 sisters, 9 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren.

A memorial visitation will be held from 4 to 7 PM on Friday, June 10, 2016, at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, IN 47150) with his service to follow at 7PM.
