George William Hawkins

George W. "Billy" Hawkins, 81, of Louisville, Kentucky passed away on Thursday, February 2, 2017. He was born in Louisville, Kentucky on November 11, 1935 to the late Joseph and Elizabeth Hawkins. He was an Army veteran and a member of Harvest Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a brother, Joseph R. Hawkins.
Billy is survived by his children, Diana Hawkins and George William Hawkins, Jr.; siblings, Stephen (Linda F.) Hawkins, Robert E. (Linda) Hawkins and Joy Ann (Tom) Sanders; a grandson, Patrick Hawkins;a great-grandson, Brayden Hawkins; and a host of other family members and friends.
A service to celebrate his life will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. on Monday, February 6, 2017 at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest Louisville Chapel, 10304 Dixie Highway. Visitation will be from 1-6 on Sunday at the funeral home.
