George Ray Haney

George Ray Haney, 78, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Wednesday, November 30, 2022.

He was born on December 27, 1943 in Louisville, Kentucky to George and Birtie V. Haney. George was a graduate of Durrett High School in Louisville. He was a proud veteran of the United States Navy, serving in Vietnam. George retired from Ford Motor Company, having worked 42 years with the company.

He is preceded in death by his father, George Daniel Haney; mother, Birtie V Haney; and grandmother, Tinie Schnider.

George is survived by his loving Wife, Elvera Haney; children, Theresa Deacon, Cynthia "Cindy" Randel, Danny Haney, Joshua Haney, and Benjamin "Benjie" Haney; brother, Ricky Sherman Haney; grandchildren, April N. Haney, Jennifer L. Deacon, Megan Haney, Cody Haney, Devin Haney, Daniel Haney, Renea Haney, Katherine Haney, Tyler Haney, Nicholas Haney, and Justin Haney. .

Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, December 9, 2022 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - East Louisville, (235 Juneau Drive). A Funeral Mass will be at 1:00 pm on Saturday December 9, 2022, at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church (7813 Shelbyville Rd) with burial to follow at Pleasant Grove Baptist Cemetery (13800 Aiken Rd) in Louisville.
