George Wayne Foster

George Wayne Foster, 74, of Georgetown, Indiana, went to be with his Heavenly Father on Tuesday, December 11, 2018. He was born on July 22, 1944, to the late George and Madeline (Gresham) Foster.

Wayne proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps. After the Marine Corps, he continued to serve in the Army National Guard where he retired with the rank of Command Sergeant Major in 2000. Wayne also retired after many years as an insurance salesman for Farm Bureau Insurance.

With all his professional accomplishments, he was most proud of his family. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his sisters, Gaylene Foley and Betty Houghland; as well as his sons, Christopher Dieck Foster and Steven Foster. Wayne is survived by his sons, Paul Foster (Patricia) and Joe Young (Laura); daughter-in-law, Kara Foster; 8 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; sister, Rosie Marsh; brother, Ray Foster; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, December 17, 2018, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). His Funeral Service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home with military honors.
