George Eckenrode, 79, of Clarksville, Indiana, passed away on Friday, January 14, 2022. George was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy and a member of First Baptist Church in Jeffersonville.
He was born on May 1, 1942, in Columbus, Ohio, to the late George and Jeanette (Poole) Eckenrode. Along with his parents, George is preceded in death by his wife, Sharon Eckenrode; and son, James Eckenrode.
George is survived by his daughter, Grace Mouser; grandchildren, Richard (Tanya) Mouser, Jeremy Mouser, Casey Mouser, and Quinton (Ashley) Mouser; and great-grandchildren, Layton, Ray, and Logan.
Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 24, 2022, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - New Albany (3309 Ballard Lane). His Funeral Service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home with cremation to follow according to George's wishes.
The family requests that contributions in George's memory be made to the American Heart Association.
