George W. Cundiff, a devoted husband, father, and proud veteran, passed away on February 25, 2026, at the age of 92. Born on January 23, 1934, in Ravenna, Kentucky, George was known for his hardworking nature, strong family values, and an enduring commitment to the simple joys in life.
George dedicated a significant part of his career to Hesco Parts Inc., where his work ethic was admired by colleagues and friends alike. He was a member of Cloverleaf Baptist Church and the American Legion, embodying a spirit of service both in his professional life and through his military service. Proudly serving in the U.S. Marines during the Korean War, he earned several accolades including the Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Korean Service Medal, and the United Nations Service Medal, reflecting his dedication to his country.
George was a man of warmth and humor, cherishing time spent with loved ones. He had a passion for sports, particularly enjoying watching games featuring the University of Louisville and the University of Kentucky. In addition to sports, George found joy in his hobbies, often seen working on puzzle books or meticulously tending to his yard.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Beatrice A. Cundiff; his daughter, Karen Jo Bache; stepson Jeffrey (Kathy) Bowier; stepdaughters Mona (Vernon) Caldwell and Karen (Kevin) Weyrauch; as well as grandchildren, Nikki, Kelly, Glenn, Kenny, Kyle, Andy, Karla, Aaron, Tara and Brendon, 20 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren, who will all carry forward his legacy of love and devotion. He also leaves behind his twin sister, Daisy Stein, along with many nieces and nephews.
George was predeceased by his parents, Henry and Maude Cundiff, and his sisters, Barbara Sergant, Mae Rapson, and Cinderella Faye Hardy.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 11th, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home in Southwest Louisville, followed by a funeral service beginning at 1:00 PM. conducted by Pastor Geoff Lacefield. He will be laid to rest with military honors at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central in Fort Knox, with burial scheduled at 2:30 PM.
George W. Cundiff’s life was a testament to hard work, family, and faith. His memory will forever be cherished in the hearts of those who knew him. In lieu of flowers the family kindly suggests that expressions of sympathy be made to either of the following, Cloverleaf Baptist Church / Missions, The Wounded Warrior Project or the American Cancer Society.
