George W. Bowles, Jr.

George W. Bowles, Jr., born on March 4,1963, passed away on September 20, 2025, in Sellersburg, Indiana. He was a man who lived a rich and fulfilling life with many passions.

George was a graduate of Austin High School, where he laid the foundation for a lifetime of hard work and commitment. George devoted numerous years, working with esteemed companies such as, Rumpke, Industrial Disposal, Jim O’Neal Ford, Eco-tech, Estes Waste, and Blevins Sanitation. Through his career, he developed many close friendships that would last a lifetime.

His interests were many; he was an enthusiastic basketball, baseball, and track coach, sharing his passion for sports with the youth at Providence High School, where he enjoyed being the Concession Manager. Additionally, an Athletic Director for several years, at St. John Paul II Catholic School. Alongside his love for coaching, George was often found playing his guitar and listening to music. His enthusiasm extended to both IU sports and NASCAR, activities he cherished with family and friends. Family trips to Spring Mill brought him immense joy, as did his love for thrifting, bartering, and collecting unique treasures.

George is survived by; his wife, Andrea Bowles; and children, Austin Bowles and Samuel Bowles. Also, Jessica Campbell, Jordan Bowles, and their families. He leaves behind; his father George W. Bowles Sr., sisters Vickie Raichel, Kathy (Phil) Edwards, and Chastity Shelton, along with a treasured niece, Tinisha (Chance) Densford, beloved uncle Allen Bowles, and many loving nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and numerous friends. He is preceded in death by his mother, Mary A. Bowles; sister, Tammie Hickman; and niece, Morgan Edwards.

A celebration of life will be held at St John Paul II Catholic Church (2253 West St. Joe Rd. Sellersburg, IN 47172) on October 7, 2025 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, with Mass at 11:00 am.
