George Henry Behrend, 70, of Louisville, passed away on November 11, 2016. George was born in Brooklyn, New York on October 22, 1946 to the late Ernest and Margaret Behrend. George was a Research Chemist for Ulano. He relocated to Louisville upon his retirement in 1997, where he pursued many hobbies. He was an avid woodworker and Past President of KYANA Woodworking Club. He followed politics, enjoyed studying sciences and finance. He will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor.
George is survived by his wife of 40 years, Ellen Behrend and a daughter, Joi Behrend.
The family is planning a memorial service at Whitehall Mansion, service date and time will be announced at a later date. Newcomer Funeral Home, East Louisville Chapel (235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, KY 40243) is assisting with arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Kentucky Humane Society.
