George E. Adams, age 76 of Louisville, passed away on Friday, August 3, 2018. He grew up in Germantown and attended church and school at St. Theresa's Catholic Church. Even after so many years, he was still "hanging with the gang". He graduated from St. Xavier Catholic High School and attended the University of Louisville. He was a member of the Church of the Epiphany. His career spanned over 26 years of service with the John Hancock Company, Prudential Insurance and Humana. He was a member of the AARP Club where he shared many happy memories with friends. He was preceded in death by parents, Harry and Margaret Adams; brother, Harry "Buddy" Adams; and his sister, Marlene Reed.
George is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Lou; children, Todd Adams (Megan) and Amie Pirtle (JP); grandchildren, Ellie, Johnnie, Caroline and Julia; sister, Margie Bierly (Scott); sister-in-law, Betty Rabishaw; a number of nieces and nephews; and a host of relatives and friends.
Visitation will be 3-8 pm on Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals and Receptions, East Louisville Chapel, 235 Juneau Drive in Middletown. A visitation will also be held at 9 am on Wednesday, August 8th at the Epiphany Catholic Church, 914 Old Harrods Creek Road, Louisville, Ky., followed by a Mass of Celebration at 10 am. Burial will be at 3 pm at St. Catherine Cemetery in New Haven, Ky.
