Gene Cook, 80, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Monday, June 8, 2020. Gene was an auto mechanic by trade, and loved working on cars. He spent much of his pastime racing cars at the Ohio Valley Raceway and Cedar Creek Raceways. Gene was an avid U of L basketball and football fan. He enjoyed spending time with family.

He was born on February 8, 1940 in Louisville, Kentucky to Lawrence and Estelle (Garrett) Cook. He is preceded in death by his twin brother, Floyd Cook, and Parents.

Gene is survived by his loving Wife of 61 years, Ann Cook, and Sons, Lloyd (Krista) Cook, Jr., Gary Cook, and Jeff (Stephanie) Cook; Grandchildren, Lloyd Cook, III, Brittany Cook, Gary (Tiffany) Cook, Megan Marshall, Jessica Cook, and Kyle Cook; Great-Grandchildren, Tessa Cook, Cameron Cook, Mila Cook, Logan Cook, Leland Marshall, and Gracie Marshall; Brother, Forrest Cook, and Sister, Dorothy Paull. Gene also leaves behind to cherish his memory a host of Nieces, Nephews, Friends, and Extended Family.

Visitation will be from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm on Friday, June 12, 2020 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, (10304 Dixie Hwy). His Funeral Service will be at 1:00 pm on Friday, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel with Entombment to follow at Bethany Memorial Cemetery in Louisville, Kentucky.
