Gay Angela Alexander

April 5, 1954 — May 29, 2015

Gay Angela Alexander, 61 of Louisville KY, passed away peacefully May 29, 2015 in the caring and loving arms of her soul mate of 16 years Edward Lyrone Jones. She was born April 5, 1954 in St. Louis, Missouri.

Gay was a member of Soka Gakkai International and actively practiced Buddhism for 30 years.

She was preceded in death by her brother, James Victor Alexander and father, James Archibald Alexander.
Gay is survived by her mother Dorothy "Stick" Virginia Alexander, her brother Jerome Vincent Alexander, both of Louisville KY, her daughter Bonita Verelle Elery of Decatur, GA, her son James Victor Alexander (Jennifer) of Louisville, KY and two granddaughters Makalya Rose Taylor of Louisville, KY and Victoria Lee Alexander of Laredo, TX.

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 5, 2015 from 2:00pm until 8:00pm at Newcomer Funeral Home (235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, KY 40243).

Funeral ceremonies will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2015 at 10:00am at the funeral home with internment immediately to follow at Highland Memory Garden Cemetery in Mount Washington, Kentucky.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
