Gary Lee Wood

Gary Lee Wood, 76, of Charlestown, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, August 17, 2024. Gary was a proud veteran of the United States Army. He worked for Texaco Oil and Marathon Oil for many years until his retirement.

He was born on July 20, 1948 in Portsmouth, Ohio to the late Henry Wood and Edith Purdy Wood. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law, Larry & Karen Wood.

Gary is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Patty Henry-Wood; daughters, Mary Beth (Mike) Dalton and Leigh Ellen (Ayo) Wood; sister, Cheri Edens (Rick); grandchildren, Bryce Dalton, Athalie Oladipofaniyi, Kenn Oladipofaniyi, and Kamillah Muhammad; and Allison Olah-Nelson, more like a daughter than a niece; and several nieces and nephews. 

Cremation was chosen following Gary's wishes and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
