Garry T. Givans, 73, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, February 26, 2022. Garry was a proud veteran of the United States Army and a member of the Ohio Valley Native American Veteran Warrior Society. After serving his country, Garry spent over 25 years working for the State of Kentucky in helping fellow veterans find employment.
He was born on September 10, 1948, in Louisville, Kentucky, to the late Gene and Hazel Givans.
Garry is survived by his loving wife, Margaret Givans; stepdaughter, Donna (Craig) Davis; brother, Rick (Patty) Givans; and grandchildren, Cierra, MeKenzie, Malarie, Mason, and Kennedie.
A Memorial Gathering will be from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 5, 2022, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). A Memorial Service will follow at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. Cremation was chosen following Garry's wishes.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Garry's memory can be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research (P.O. Box 5014, Hagerstown, MD 21741-5014).
