Garnett Lee "G.L." or "Junie" Miller, 93, of Memphis, Indiana, passed away at his home on Friday, June 18, 2021. Garnett retired from Pillsbury and worked at the YMCA post-retirement. He never met a stranger and found joy in his family and friends and caring for his many beloved pets. Garnett was a much-loved uncle and friend to many and loved helping others.
He was born on May 17, 1928, in Jeffersonville, Indiana, to the late Carter and Montra (Dulworth) Miller. Along with his parents, Garnett is preceded in death by his five siblings, Celestine McCracken (Mark), Alta Karsner (James), Ruth Timmonds (Richard), Betty Mahoney (Kenny), and George Miller; and granddaughter, Tyra Miller.
Garnett is survived by daughter, Karen Williams (Peter); son, Kevin Miller (LaDonna); and many beloved nieces and nephews including, Ron Timmonds, Linda Timmonds Wright (Chuck), Debbie Timmonds Stewart (Lewis), and Rita Kinkaid (Gary); 6 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Friday, June 25, 2021, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - New Albany (3309 Ballard Lane). His Funeral Service will be at 1:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home with burial to follow at Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Jeffersonville, Indiana.
The family requests that contributions in Garnett's memory be made to the Animal Protection Association (702 E. 11th St., Jeffersonville, IN 47130).
