Frederick Sherdon Pierce

February 18, 1933 — December 7, 2018

Frederick "Fred" Sherdon Pierce, age 85 of Louisville, passed away on Friday, December 7, 2018. He was born on February 18, 1933, Atlanta, Georgia to the late Charlie and Evelyn Pierce. Fred was an Army Veteran and loved his country. In his life, he also enjoyed fishing, gardening, and tinkering in his workshop. He was greatly loved by everyone who knew him. He will truly be missed!

Fred is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Lynn Cope Pierce; brother, Robert Pierce (Charlotte); children, Jean Filer-Smith (Doug), Catherine Oviedo (Vince), Michael Pierce and Mark Pierce; and he was loved as Papas to his grandchildren, John "Johnny" Filer, Jeffrey Filer, Jeremy Filer, Patricia "Trish" Smith, Heather Sudduth, Gabrielle Holenstein, Blake Oviedo, Mikala Pierce; late grandson, Mason Pierce; great-grandchildren, Jacob Filer, Alexander "Frederick" Filer, Adriana Filer, Carter Filer, Jackson Sudduth, Oliver Sudduth and Everett Sudduth; and a host of family and friends.

Visitation will be 10:30 am - 11:30 am on Monday, December 17, 2018 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals and Receptions, East Louisville Chapel, 235 Juneau Drive in Middletown, with a celebration of Fred's life to follow at 11:30 am. Interment will be at 1:30 pm at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central, 2501 N Dixie Blvd., Radcliff, KY 40160.
