Frederick D. McNamara, 80, of Louisville, KY, passed away on January 9, 2017. He was a retired veteran of the U.S. Army who served in Japan 1956-1957, Germany 1960-1966 and 1968-1969 and in Vietnam during 1967-1968 and 1969-1970, as Sergeant First Class. He also retired from LG&E.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Doris McNamara.

Frederick is survived by his son, Ricky McNamara; daughter, Teresa (Howard) Roberts; step-son, James Stephen Copas; grandchildren, Michelle McNamara and Tracey (Ryan) Adkins; great grandchildren, Alexis Collins and Ashby (Veronia) Robertson and great-great grandson, Charlie Robertson.

Visitation will be Thursday, January 12, 2017, from 1pm-8pm at Newcomer Funeral Home Southwest Louisville Chapel (10304 Dixie Highway, Louisville, KY). A celebration of Frederick's life will be Friday, January 13, 2017, beginning at 10am with burial to follow at Highland Memory Gardens, 279 Landis Ln, Mt Washington, KY.
