Frank Shuman Jr.

Frank “Butch” Shuman Jr., of La Grange, entered the heavenly kingdom on August 28, 2026, at the age of 76. Born on December 8, 1949, Frank was a man whose warm and spirited nature left a lasting impression on all who knew him.

Frank worked as a truck driver for Yellow Freight, a career that reflected his steady work ethic and dedication. Outside of work, he was known for his outgoing personality and his remarkable ability to make friends wherever he went. He never met a stranger and was remembered as friendly, full of life, and always ready with a joke. He was an instigator in the best sense, bringing laughter and energy to those around him. Frank was also a talented musician, known as a great guitar player and a great drummer. He also loved his Harley motorcycle and Jesus.

Above all, Frank cherished his family. He is survived by his beloved wife, Mary Shuman; his son, Tony Shuman and Tony’s wife, Amy; Madison Shuman, Michael Shuman (grandchildren), and Olivia Shuman (great-granddaughter); his sister, Linda Hardin and family including many nieces and nephews. Frank also cherished Mary's children, grandchildren and great grandbabies who were very special to him and brought him great joy.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Leatha Shuman; his brothers, Jimmy, Billy, and David; and his sister, Jean Monarch.

Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation on September 3, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, East Louisville, 235 Juneau Dr, Louisville, Kentucky 40243. A funeral service will follow there at 1:00 p.m. Graveside services will take place at 3:00 p.m. at Resthaven Memorial Park, 4400 Bardstown Road, Louisville, Kentucky 40218.

Frank “Butch” Shuman Jr. will be remembered for his music, his humor, his kindness, and the easy way he made people feel welcome. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
