Frank S. Wilcox Ii
Frank Shirley Wilcox II, 73, passed away peacefully on Saturday afternoon, September 18, 2010 at the VA Medical Center in Louisville with family by his side. Frank was a retired New Albany Police Officer, a U.S. Army veteran, a member of the Masonic Temple, Knights of Columbus and Floyd County VFW Post 3281.
Frank was born on March 31, 1937 in New Albany to the late F. Shirley and Grace (Corrao) Wilcox. He is survived by his children, Frank Wilcox III of New Albany and Leigh Ann Faris-Quinkert and her husband Patrick of New Albany; grandchildren, Adam Faris, Dalton Wilcox and Victoria Wilcox; brother John Wilcox and his wife Lynda.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt appreciation to the wonderful staff on the Hospice Unit at the VA Hospital in Louisville.
Visitation will be from 12 noon to 8 PM on Wednesday, September 22, 2010 at Newcomer Funeral Home (formerly Generations Funeral Home, 3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, IN). His Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 AM Thursday, September 23, 2010 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Albany with military honors and burial to follow at Fairview Cemetery.
