Francis William Sample

Francis W. "Frank" Sample, 85, of Borden, Indiana passed away on Friday, October 9, 2015. A long-time member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Starlight, Francis was also a member of the Knights of Columbus JFK Council #1348 in Jeffersonville and the Borden Lions Club. He retired from E&H Electric in Louisville and volunteered with the Red Cross for a number of years.

Francis was born on November 26, 1929 in Jefferson County, Kentucky to the late John T. and Mary (Pfeiffer) Sample. He is also preceded in death by his son, John Francis Sample, and brothers, John A. and Charles E. Sample.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 63 years, Helen R. (Stark) Sample; daughter, Mary Ann Smith (Larry); grandchildren, Kevin (Jessica), Chris (Becky), Kyle (Amanda), and Cory (Sarah) Smith; and great grandchildren, Emma, Sydney, John, Abby, Katelyn, and Noah.

Visitation will be from 12 to 6 PM on Sunday, October 11, 2015 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). His Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 AM on Monday, October 10 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church (8310 St. John's Road, Floyds Knobs, IN 47119) with burial to follow at Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Jeffersonville, Indiana.
