Frances Roberta "Birdie" Byrd, 78, of Louisville, went to be with the Lord on November 23, 2015. Birdie was born in Adams, TN on October 2, 1937 to the late Mason and Carrie Brooksher. She loved the Lord and was a devoted member of Bashford Manor Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, Birdie was preceded in death by her husband, Sam Byrd; brother, Luther Brooksher; and sisters, Marjorie Dutton and Katherine Brown Mathis.

Survivors include her daughters, Denise Puente (David), Marlene Blaylock, and Darlene Blaylock; 3 grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter; sister, Doris Slone (Eddie); and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Memorial service will be held Monday, November 30, 2015 at 6:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home - Southwest Chapel (10304 Dixie Hwy).
