Frances (O'Leary) Merkl, 78, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Saturday morning, February 24, 2018. She had served as a librarian for the Jeffersonville Public Library and also worked extensively with Haven House Charities in southern Indiana. Frances had also been a long-time resident of Azalea Hills in Floyds Knobs, Indiana.
She was born on March 6, 1939, in Liverpool, England, to the late John and Mary O'Leary. Frances was also preceded in death by her daughter, Michelle Jefferis.
Frances is survived by her daughter, Stephanie Waddell (Daniel); grandchildren, Ben Jefferis (Jessica), Danniell Case (Jeremy), Charles Waddell, Nick Jefferis (Amanda), and Josh Waddell; and great-grandchildren, Zoe Jefferis, and Lorelei and Grayson Case.
Cremation was chosen following Frances' wishes, and Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) was entrusted with her care.
