Frances Diane Ellis Floden, 73, passed on Saturday, November 13th after a 52-day hospitalization with Pulmonary Fibrosis.
Her hometown was Carrollton, KY but during her 51-year marriage to Ed they lived in Louisville, KY, Chicago, IL, Jackson, MS, Tyrone, GA, Sacramento, CA and then returning to Louisville in 2002.
Diane had a long and rewarding career in accounting primarily within the healthcare industry. After returning to Louisville, she worked at Atria Senior Living Group for 9 years with responsibilities for billing at 25 communities. Several meaningful friendships were made that carried on after retirement. For the last 2 years she was employed by Traditions at Beaumont Assisted Living. As receptionist and secretary, she interacted daily with staff and "her residents". It was a perfect fit for her outgoing personality and smiling face. She wanted so badly to return to work, but that wasn't to be. Her boss described her as the glue that held things together. She will be missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Helen Elizabeth Neville and Lloyd Ellis; 3 sisters and 4 brothers, Thelma Louise Fryer, Willadean Toon, Oleane Ellis, Charles Ray Ellis, Bennie Don Ellis and Lloyd Brooks Ellis.
Diane is survived by her husband, Ed; loving brother, Larry Ellis (Patty); son, David; daughter, Sue; as well as the lights of her life, grandsons, Nicholas and Joey. We can't forget her beloved fur baby Gidget. Ed snuck Gidget into the hospital on Friday for a final visit with her momma. Also left behind are in-laws Rita Walker, Fred and Helen Floden and Margie and Larry Washburn. Others who will miss her dearly are her former daughter-in-law Nicole Floden and
many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 2 pm to 7 pm on Thursday, November 18, 2021 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals, and Receptions, East Louisville Chapel (235 Juneau Drive). A prayer service will be held that day at 2 pm at the funeral home. Private burial will take place at Highland Memory Gardens in Mt. Washington, KY.
