Flora (Serrano) Walsh, 81, of Georgetown, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, March 13, 2018, at Jewish Hospital surrounded by her family. She was a member of Graceland Baptist Church and loved to read the Bible. Flora was an avid baseball fan, especially for the New York Yankees, and loved flowers and gardening. She will be remembered most for the love and pride she had for her family and America.
She was born on September 6, 1936, in Camaguey, Cuba, to the late Jose Roberto and Angela Caridad (Peñamil) Serrano. Along with her parents, Flora was preceded in death by her brother, Rafael Antonio Serrano.
Flora is survived by her husband of 56 years, John W. Walsh, Sr.; children, Janet D. Walsh and John W. Walsh, Jr. (Brenda); grandchildren, John W. Walsh III, Casey Smith (DJ), Alexis Paige Walsh, and Luke Aaron Walsh; great-grandchild, Hadley M. Walsh; and sister, Faye Garza.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 17, 2018, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane New Albany). Her Funeral Service will follow at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday in the chapel of the funeral home with cremation to follow.
