Fay Greco, born on June 8, 1934, in Perry County, passed away peacefully on October 11, 2024 in Louisville, Kentucky. Her passing leaves a void in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Fay dedicated over 40 years of her life to serving at Rockford Lane Baptist Church as the financial secretary, where her steadfast devotion and organizational skills profoundly impacted the church community. A devoted Christian, she embodied the spirit of faith, always eager to witness to others about the Lord and share her love for God.
Fay's personality was as vibrant as her cherished hobby – dancing. Affectionately known as "the Dancer," she could light up any room with her joyous spirit and graceful movements. She also had a passion for cooking, often bringing people together with her delicious meals, which were infused with warmth and love. Whether it was a holiday gathering or a casual get-together, Fay made every event memorable with her culinary talents.
Education played an essential role in Fay's life, and she graduated from Business School in Louisville, equipping her with skills that she would later employ in her long-standing position at the church. Beyond her professional contributions, Fay found immense joy in reading the Bible and participating in church festivities, solidifying her connections within her community.
Fay's life was a beautiful tapestry woven with love, faith, and an enduring commitment to her church and its members. She leaves behind countless memories, stories, and an example of unwavering faith that will be cherished forever.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, John Greco.
Fay leaves to cherish her memories, her children, Steve (Kim) Greco, Terry (Danny) Berger and Brent (Shelley) Greco; grandchildren, Rachel Pendleton, Chris Berger, Tiffany Mills, Steven Berger, Corey Greco, Melissa Burress, Jacob Greco and Sammi Greco; 14 great- grandchildren; 1 great-great-granddaughter; brother, Richard (Linda) Hughes, Billy (Judy) Hughes; sisters, Maxine (Arnold) Vice and Bessie Jean (Phillip) Holley and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Fay’s remarkable life. Visitation will be held on October 24, 2024, from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest Louisville, located at 10304 Dixie Hwy, Louisville, KY 40272. A funeral service honoring her life will take place on October 25, 2024, starting at 12:00 PM, followed by a graveside service at Louisville Memorial Garden West, located at 4400 Dixie Highway, Shively, KY 40216, at 2:00 PM.
As we say goodbye to Fay, let us remember her legacy of love, faith, and dancing through life with an infectious joy. She was a guiding light to all who knew her, and her spirit will continue to shine brightly in our hearts.
