Evelyn Strawter

Evelyn "Ebbie" Strawter, 70, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Thursday, September 12, 2019. Mrs. Strawter was a school teacher at Waller-Williams Environmental School for over 20 years. She was a active member of N Street Baptist Church, where she was involved in various committees. Evelyn knew a good sale and loved to shop. She also loved to cook, and spend time with family and friends.

She was born on July 28, 1949 in Picayune, Mississippi to Josh and Bertha (Anderson) Thompson. She is preceded in death by her Parents, Husband, Walter "Peanuts" Strawter, and Sister, Theresa Jackson.

Evelyn is survived by her, Daughters, Tammy Thompson, and Anasha (Eddie) Thompson, Sister, Ruby Whitehead, Grandchildren, Micah Thompson, Dejah Thompson, and Raheem Cochran, Great-Grandchild, Khalil Cochran. She also leaves behind to cherish her memory a host of Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, and Extended Family.

Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm on Wednesday, September 18, 2019 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, (10304 Dixie Hwy). Her Funeral Service will be at 12:00 pm on Wednesday, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel with burial to follow in Louisville Cemetery.
