Rev. Evedna (Cook) Kays, 86, of New Albany, returned to her Heavenly Father July 23, 2017. She was a graduate of the United Christian Bible Institute and the pastor of Open House of Prayer Ministries.
She was born on June 1, 1931 in Leitchfield, KY to the late Moses and Ella (Hack) Cook. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Harold Kays, Sr. and her daughter, Phyllis Fulkerson.
She is survived by her children, Annella Barker (Earl), Harold Kays, Jr. (Chris), Jackie Anderson (Bob), Dickie Kays (Jackie); 11 grandchildren and 26 great-grand-children.
Visitation will be from 3 PM to 8 PM on Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). Her Funeral Service is at 11 AM on Thursday, July 27, 2017 in the chapel at the funeral home with burial to follow at SCI Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany.
