Eva Bundren

October 24, 1950 — January 27, 2024

Eva A. Bundren, lovingly nicknamed "Songbird", left this earth to join her Heavenly Father on Saturday, January 27th, 2024, at the age of 73. She was born on October 24, 1950 at St. Edward hospital in New Albany, Indiana, to the late William Russell and Zula (Coomer) Conrad, the youngest of 7 children. Eva grew up in Georgetown, Indiana, and was proud to be a member of the first graduating class at Floyd Central High School in 1968. She married her best friend and life partner, Dick Bundren, on June 11th, 1977, spending the first six years of their lives together in Henryville, Indiana, but making their home in Corydon, Indiana, for the past 39 years.

Those who had the pleasure of being acquainted with Eva knew that music was her passion. From an early age she loved to sing, beginning with the children's choir at Indian Creek Baptist Church, and later performing at local gospel hymn sings with her nieces. For the last several years, she enjoyed singing while accompanied on guitar by her husband, Dick; both served together on the praise and worship team at Higher Encounters Christian Ministries in Brandenburg, Kentucky.

Eva had the kindest heart, and was always thinking of others. Whether it was something handmade or bought, she took great care and consideration in finding the perfect gifts for her family and friends. She believed laughter was the best medicine, and lived according to Proverbs 17:22: A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones. One of her favorite pastimes was going for convertible rides at sunset, especially on a hot summer day after spending the afternoon in the pool.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her granddaughter, Rebecca Frazier Miller, brothers James (Jean) Conrad, Russell J. (Joyce) Conrad, and sisters Alice Mae Wolfe (Charles), and Anna Lorene Conrad. She is survived by her "honey", Dick Bundren, daughter Angela, son-in-law, Shawn Frazier Sr., grandchildren Shawn Christopher (Katie) Frazier, Jr., and Johnathon Frazier; great grandchildren Serenity, Bentley, and Jackson; siblings Donnie (Darleen) Conrad, Linda (Dave) Standiford, and a host of nieces and nephews whom she adored.
