Eva Mae "Rosebud" Briscoe, 62, passed away on May 14, 2015. She was a faithful member of Eastern Star Baptist Church. She loved to cook and bake for her family and friends and everyone loved her legendary chess pies. She was a fan of the UofL Sports program.
She was preceded in death by her father, Sim Key, Sr.; mother, Lillie Mae Smith; foster parents, Ida Bell and Edward Rutledge, Carrie Mae Thomas and brothers, Andrew and Robert Smith, Anthony Cowherd and sister-in-law, Joyce Key
She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Charles Briscoe; children, Raphael (Nina) Smith, Shamon Smith, Sherrie (Troy) Smith, Charlene (Louis) Briscoe, Carmenlita Sanford, Donna Briscoe, Charles Briscoe, Jr. Detrick Briscoe, Latrice Maddox and Yolanda Tann; grandchildren, Eric, Nicholas, Quinn, Asia, Jaray, Rayneisha, Darell, Adrian, Kenya, Audrey, Malaysia, Lashonta, Brittany, Brent; great-grandchildren. John Wright, Jr., Jamaria and Jaylin; siblings, Sarah (Arthur) Bryant, Clementine (Ray) Bell, Theresa (Mike) Evans and Sim Key, Jr., Morris and Emanuel Hamilton and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be Tuesday, May 26, 2015, at Eastern Star Baptist Church, 2400 Howard Street, from 6pm-9pm. A celebration of Eva's life will be Wednesday, May 27, 2015, at Eastern Star Baptist Church beginning at 10am.
Burial will be at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery.
