Ethel Marie (Johnson) Korte Lynch

Ethel Marie (Johnson) Korte Lynch, 79, of Memphis, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, March 10, 2022. She lived life to its fullest and loved spending time with her family and friends. Ethel enjoyed working in her garden, tending to her flowers, and the many years she spent working out at Huber Winery.

She was born on December 28, 1942, in Littcarr, Kentucky, to Vernie and Lucy (Gibson) Johnson. In addition to her parents, Ethel was preceded in death by her husband, John Korte, Sr.; son, John Korte, Jr.; granddaughter, April Meredith; and siblings, Dillard and Hillard Johnson.

Ethel is survived by her daughter, Mary Burns (Tim); daughter-in-law, Randa Korte; sister, Margaret Davis; grandchildren, Alyssa Korte (fiancé, Kyle) and Emily Ruedinger (Josh); and great-grandchildren, Oliver Taylor and Dahlia Korte.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 15, 2022, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). Her funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home with burial to follow at St. Michael's Catholic Cemetery in Charlestown, Indiana.

Contributions in Ethel's memory may be made to the American Cancer Society or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
