Esther Francis May Shultz went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, August 13, 2025 in Louisville, Kentucky. She was born on June 21, 1940 in Carrollton, Kentucky. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of almost 64 years, William (Bill Shultz), her father and mother, Jesse James May and Nellie McDowell May, four brothers, LG, Otis, JW and Cecil and five sisters, Norma Jane Presley, Martha Elizabeth May, Mary Ruth, Dolly Rose, Danna Nell, and grandchildren Christopher Cantrill, Michelle Rusch, and Desmond Shultz.
She is survived by her daughters, Cheryl (William) Cantrill, Joan (Robert) Bisig, Danna (David) Hall; sons, William (Janet) Shultz, Adam Shultz, James Shultz, Morgan (Robin) Shultz and Matthew (Lisa) Shultz; 33 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren and sisters Mickey McDowell and Millie Witt.
Esther loved her husband Bill, her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as many friends. She was a woman who loved the Lord and worshipped in a pentecostal church. She was known for her kindness, generosity, cooking and crocheting. Her home was the place where many neighborhood children congregated, and she welcomed them like they were her own. Her love and wit will be missed by all who knew her.
Visitation will be from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Sunday, August 24, 2025 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, (10304 Dixie Hwy). Her Funeral Service will be at 11:00 am on Monday, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel with burial to follow at Bethany Memorial Cemetery in Louisville, Kentucky.
