Esther Viola (Brown) Higgs, 78, of Borden, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, July 2, 2019. Esther was a life-long residence of Borden and loved crocheting, sewing, and tending to her flowers.
She was born on May 2, 1941, in Borden, Indiana, to the late Averill and Mildred (Brook) Brown. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Renda Viola Grawitch; son-in-law, Christopher Grawitch; and 2 brothers and 3 sisters.
Esther is survived by her husband, Billy D. Higgs; children, Thomas Higgs, David Higgs, Jacob "J.B."(Lori) Higgs, and daughter, Anna Marie (Gary) Gray; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and 1 sister.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Monday, July 8, 2019, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - New Albany. Her Funeral Service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home with burial to follow at Ebenezer Church Cemetery in Memphis, Indiana.
The family requests that contributions in Esther's memory be made to Ebenezer Church Cemetery Fund.
