Essence Desiree Gary

Essence Desiree Gary, 29, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Friday, December 25, 2020. Essence was a loving and devoted mother to her children. She enjoyed the outdoors and being with nature. Essence was a hardworking individual who always found a way to make things work. She had a loving heart and had best intentions for all who knew her, and was a great motivator. Essence loved seeing her friends and family happy. Her laughter and humor would fill the room. She will be missed by all who knew her.

She was born on September 22, 1991 in Wilmington, North Carolina to Derek Gary and Deatrice Chase. She is preceded in death by her Father, Derek Gary, and Grandmother Gale Everett.

Essence is survived by her Mother & Step-Father, Deatrice (Nelson) Chase-Reyes, Sons, LaJuante Lane, and King Moore, Sister, Jacarra Hankins, Brothers, Michael Chase, Byron Chase, Derek Gary, Jr., and Kane Reyes, Grandmother, Claudette Brown, Grandfathers, Donald (Patricia) Chase, and Gerald Green, Uncles, Michael Brown, and Jawann Gary, Aunts, Donna Chase-Thornton, Paula Gary, and Shirelle Point, Cousins, Jada, Mikayla, Mckenzie, Tyera, and Tyrik. Essence also leaves behind to cherish her memory a host of Cousins, Friends, and Extended Family.

Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Friday, January 8, 2021 at Newcomer Funeral Home- Southwest Louisville Chapel, (10304 Dixie Hwy). Her Funeral Service will be at 1:00 pm on Friday, at Newcomer Funeral Home Chapel.
