Ervin E. Caldwell

Ervin E. Caldwell, 86, of Henryville, Indiana, passed away on Monday, September 27, 2021. Ervin was a member of Underwood Baptist Church. He enjoyed gardening and loved baseball, especially the Cincinnati Reds. Ervin had a passion for tinkering on cars and felt most at home when he was outdoors. Above all else, Ervin cherished all of his grandchildren.

He was born on April 22, 1935, in Ella, Kentucky, to the late Joseph and Minnie (Giles) Caldwell. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his loving wife of 62 years, Sally Caldwell; and 11 brothers and sisters.

Ervin is survived by his children, Cindy (Eddie) Porter, Gregory (Connie) Caldwell, Pat (Bob) Patterson, Machell (Bobby) Mullins, and Shawna (Mike) Law; 16 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great-grandchildren; and 3 beautiful girls on the way.

A Memorial Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 9, 2021, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). His Memorial Service will follow at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest with his wife at Mountain Grove Cemetery in Henryville at a later date. Cremation was chosen following Ervin's wishes.
