Erma Jane(Grass) Bessler

Erma Jane (Grass) Bessler, 86, of New Albany, Indiana was called home on Sunday, May 3, 2015. She was born on June 8, 1928 in Valparaiso, Indiana to Oscar Emil and Mabel Margaret Grass. Erma worked for the telephone company as a operator for many years. She was in Amatuer Radio Club for Civil Defense, and enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

Erma was preceded in death by her husband, Max Lewis Bessler Sr.; siblings, Eva Dowdell, Eileen Martin, Richard Grass, Maralou Grass, Margaret Grass, Lee Grass and Mary Lou Grass. She is survived by her children, Max Lewis Bessler Jr. (Laura Lou), Jack Bessler (Janet), Darlene Bessler and her companion Jesse Saxton; 3 grandchildren, Kathy Nemoto (Lee), Beth Anne Daughtery (Josh), Jon Bessler (Laurie), 4 great-grandchildren, Toby, Camilla, Addie and Layla.

There will be a private memorial service for the family at a later date.
